We have comfortable seating in a bright, clean, and lovely restaurant. Most of our food is organic! We cook with fresh produce delivered every day, and choose organic whenever possible. We believe that a gourmet dining experience can be created out of vegetarian, healthy, and environmentally friendly foods. We are proud to state that our restaurant is completely free of genetically modified foods.

Company History: Red Lentil is unique to Watertown and the surrounding area. We provide a warm atmosphere in which to enjoy creative and globally inspired vegetarian and vegan foods.  Our aim to to please every customer that walks through our door.  Our menu items are of the finest quality and are treated as such as they are prepared with sensitivity and care.  Every three to four months, our menu will be updated to reflect the season; however the ‘favorites’ will remain the same. Daily specials are offered at lunch, dinner, and brunch.  They are built around produce that is currently in season in New England, and they help to keep things new, and allow the chefs to exercise their creative whims. We strive to meet the needs of special diets, offering gluten-free, raw, and macrobiotic selections. We take great care to avoid any traces of gluten in our gluten-free dishes as we recognize the severity of celiac disease. We are committed to having special equipment for these offerings. Our dessert line is baked in house to ensure freshness and will feature a wide range of vegan and gluten free dessert options.

This place is my favorite vegetarian restaurant in all of Boston. I like it better than Pulse Cafe and My Thai. I have been there four times I think, and each time had something different and delish! You can't go wrong here, everything is yummy, perfect texture, and very colorful. The chef (owner) is very friendly and I love the green color paint. The owner used to work at Garden Grill down in Pawtucket, RI so if you like their food you will love Red Lentil. I think it's very similar. The vegan tempeh Reuben is amazing as well as the (insert some nut) incrusted tofu dish I had 2 weeks ago. My boyfriend really liked the pizza and I love their desserts - especially their cheesecake. I get their desserts to go but by the time I get home there is nothing left because I can't stop eating it! Last time I was there we took my friend out for her birthday lunch. I told the owner we wanted to celebrate her bday and asked if he could bring out a slice of cake with a candle. Not only did he bring out what I asked for but he also gave her a free slice of another dessert! How sweet. The only complaint is that this place is really popular and gets crowded fast. If you want to avoid the crowd go at odd times or get there right when it opens - otherwise you might be waiting for a long time. I also wish it wasn't so far away in Watertown, would love to have a place like this in downtown Boston or JP.

FIVE STARS and counting. Fantastic nacho appetizer with guacamole, 3 cheeses, salsa, enough for 2 of us. Two giant entrees. The pizza was par excellent.  The Tofu with corn and beans was sumptuous.  We both took home leftovers.  And I am betting they will be even better tomorrow. It's a small place and we waiting but there was excellent conversation among the several others waiting.  The aromas were better than the best and certainly added our manufacture of digestive juices. The service was ultra friendly.  Notably Alex our waiter was super attentive.  He missed a step and was quick to apologize and protrusive in his honesty. THIS RESTAURANT COMES WITH MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. Dinner was a steal at $43. 1 giant delicious, fresh and tasty appetizer & 2 very large and very excellent and very filling entrees.

I've been here at least four times and never been disappointed.  The vegan/vegetarian menu is very creative and interesting.  I've tried and loved the daily soups, smoothies, sweet potato quesadilla, Thai peanut noodle salad, moussaka pizza, and three bean burrito; however, the butternut squash polenta and the Gobi Manchurian may be my favorite dishes.

The place is rather small though, and it can be crowded.  My longest wait so far has been about 15 minutes for lunch on a Sunday.  You can grab a menu while waiting or check it online in advance to speed things up.  I've always found it worth the wait.
